Another tool for slideshows: Soundslides Pro

This is a great tool (Soundslides: http://soundslides.com/) we have used to learn visual storytelling. It's easy to learn. Plus it's only $39.95!
See and hear it in action here:

A Slideshow As Primitive "Ready Made"

Ben,

I find your piece to be extremely insightful. After a point, though, what I am doing departs from "high tech" multimedia. I have to work with some stone age implements. My Mac is up to date (Intel iMac Core Duo) but not much else.

I'm focusing on developing a series of "ordinary folks'" memoirs. These are extensive, uninterrupted recordings several hours long. Into this narration I would like to insert at various junctures a series of the interviewee's home photos. That is, starting with audio-only as the base (with markers for photo insertion) I wish to incorporate old home photos. (These photos would be digitized by scanning them.)

The object would be to burn the finished product as a DVD which can be played via DVD player.

I don't know whether this sort of project is do-able. I also worry about how well smallish still photos will look when viewed on the screen of a player or TV.

Do you have any thoughts and suggestions? Thanks.

Dave
